4. Data processing when visiting the website

a) Server log files

When you access this website, the hosting provider/server automatically collects information in so-called server log files. This is technically necessary to deliver the website and ensure security.

  • IP address (usually stored in log files; possibly truncated/pseudonymized where technically possible)
  • Date and time of the request
  • Accessed page or file (URL/path)
  • HTTP status code

Purposes: Technical provision, stability, IT security, detection of misuse/attacks, error analysis.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation).
Storage period: Log files are stored only as long as required for the purposes stated above, and are then deleted or anonymized. (Retention periods are often in the range of a few days to weeks, depending on the hosting setup.)

b) Hosting / processing on behalf

We use a service provider (processor) for hosting and the technical operation of this website. Processing is carried out on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Hosting provider: STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin

5. Cookies & similar technologies

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies that are technically necessary for operation (e.g. for display, security functions, or saving settings).

Technically necessary cookies may be used without consent if they are required to provide a service expressly requested by you.

Non-essential cookies/technologies (e.g. tracking/analytics/marketing) are used only if you have previously consented (e.g. via a consent banner). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future by adjusting the cookie/consent settings.

Note: In addition to the GDPR, special provisions apply to storing/reading information on your device (e.g. Section 25 TDDDG).

6. Contact (email / contact form)

If you contact us by email or via a contact form, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, message and, if applicable, further details) in order to handle and respond to your inquiry.

Purposes: Communication, handling inquiries, initiating offers/contracts, support.
Legal bases:

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, if the inquiry is aimed at concluding a contract or performing a contract
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient communication), if there is no direct contractual relationship

Storage period: We generally delete inquiries once they have been fully processed, unless statutory retention obligations conflict or the data is required to assert/defend claims. If a contract is concluded, relevant correspondence and documents may be retained in accordance with commercial and tax-law retention periods.

Required information: Without the necessary contact data, we generally cannot respond to your inquiry.

7. Recipients of data

We disclose personal data only if this is necessary and legally permissible. Recipients may include in particular:

  • IT/hosting service providers (processors)
  • Communication/support service providers, if used
  • Authorities/courts, if we are legally obliged to do so

8. Transfer of data to third countries

If we use service providers that process data outside the EU/EEA (third countries), this is done only if the legal requirements are met (e.g. an adequacy decision by the EU Commission or appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses) and—where required—after your consent.

9. Storage period & deletion

We process personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes. Afterwards, the data is deleted or anonymized unless there are statutory retention obligations.

Statutory retention obligations may arise in particular from commercial and tax regulations (e.g. for business letters/receipts). In this case, deletion takes place after expiry of the respective period.
